00: Maker Wrangler: 3D Modeling (DeLaMare Library) Capacity: 1
Description
Our expert student Maker Wranglers offer free consultations during which you can learn how to 3D model, get help on a current project, or learn how to use any of the making equipment we offer in the library.
These are teaching and co-working consultations. They should not be viewed as a substitute for professional services.
DeLaMare Library offers support for the following software programs and equipment through its Maker Wrangler consultation services:
- Solidworks: 3D modeling software that is fee based program, available in UNR Dataworks labs or via Remote Services to UNR affiliated users only.
- OnShape: 3D modeling softward that is a free, browser-based program.
- Artec Leo 3D Scanner: Structure light 3D scanner, great for textured and accurate scans of medium to large objects.
- Artec Spider 3D Scanner: High resolution blue light scanner, great for capturing intricate details and small objects.
- All 3D printing available in DeLaMare Library.
- Laser Cutting
- Vinyl Cutting
The consultation service is free and available to all UNR members as well as the greater public, including all residents of Northern Nevada.
Making a Reservation:
If you are using a piece of equipment, you will need to reserve a Maker Wrangler and that piece of equipment for the same time frame.
How to Book a Maker Wrangler for the same time frame as your equipment reservation:
1. Go back to the Makerspace reservation page.
2. Find the Maker Wrangler space and select the time frame.
3. Find the equipment you would like to use, and select the same time frame. You will see that both the Maker Wrangler and the equipment have grey blocks for the time frame you chose. Here is an example of what that will look like:
4. Scroll down and adjust the times as needed.
5. Select "Submit Times".

You can meet the Maker Wrangler for your appointment at the information desk on the 1st floor of the DeLaMare Science & Engineering Library in the Mackay Mines building.
First select a start time from the grid below. You will then be able to modify the end date/time in the dropdown below the grid.
