Level-Up with the Libraries and TLT: 2021 Reading Day Workshops In-Person

Come learn with the University Libraries and Teaching & Learning Technologies as they provide educational opportunities for University faculty and instructors during the 2021 Reading Days! This series is designed to enhance teaching and learning, teach new research skills, and help users get the most out of WebCampus.

Instructors are encouraged to attend a single session or all five!

9:00am-9:50am: Using Quizzes Effectively

  • This workshop discusses using Quizzes in Webcampus. You will learn how to use quiz settings, question groups and question banks to create more effective quizzes.

10:00am-10:50am: Online Proctoring Options

  • This session is an introduction to two tools for proctoring exams online: Zoom and Proctorio. We will briefly outline how each tools works, and disucss the best scenarios for use of each.

11:00am-11:50am: Managing Grades in WebCampus and MyNevada Grade Integration

  • Learn how to set up grade weight, assign letter grade, and get the gradebook ready for MyNevada grade integration.

12:00pm-12:50pm: Surviving the end of term brownbag: Bring questions, tips, or words of wisdom for your peers

  • Spring 2021 has challenged us all. Let's finish strong by sharing ideas with fellow instructors about what has worked and what may need improvement, and offer some words of encouragement to each other!

1:00pm-1:50pm: Engaging Students Through Making: How to embed making into courses

  • Learn how the DeLaMare Library Makerspace can help you create authentic, hands-on learning experiences in the makerspace for your students in any discipline.

2:00pm-3:15pm: ArcGIS StoryMaps: The Basics

  • Learn how to create inspiring and interactive digital stories by combining narrative text, geospatial data, maps, and other multimedia content to communicate information through engaging and user-friendly web mapping applications
